    Rome and Photography

Unique in the world, steeped in history. The Galleria del Cembalo lies at the heart of the Palazzo Borghese, at 19 Largo Fontanella di Borghese, between Piazza di Spagna and the Tiber River, and occupies a number of magnificent ground-floor rooms that Marcantonio IV Borghese had decorated at the end of the 18th century to house his art collection.

The palace soon became a renowned destination for travellers on the Grand Tour. In the 1920s, the exclusive Circolo della Caccia club was inaugurated in the rooms on the palace’s first floor, while the Ripetta wing was rented to the Spanish Embassy.

The exhibition space, dedicated to photography lovers and collectors, displays the work of leading Italian and international photographers.
